Running sucks, right?

Wrong.

I actually look forward to it every day, and I’ve been running consistently for the past 2 years.

Here’s how to make it stupidly easy to start running more:

1. Remove Friction

Put your shoes in front of the door.
Remove every excuse.

If your running shoes are staring at you, you’ll put them on. Same with your socks and clothes, keep them nearby, ideally where you can’t ignore them. Make it easy to start.

2. Run Less

Only commit to 2 km.

Tell yourself you’ll just go for a short run. Once you start, you almost always go farther. The hardest part is simply beginning.

You don’t need to run a 10k every time.

3. Make It Enjoyable

Run at your favorite time of day. Pick your nicest route. Reward yourself afterward. Put on music or a podcast.

You don’t have to go full Goggins mode running in freezing rain at 6 AM. Make it pleasant, not miserable.

4. Get Good Gear

A quality pair of shoes or a running watch makes running feel better and creates accountability.

Spend money → feel guilty not using it → actually run.

5. Make Running Social

Join a run club.
Or run with a friend.

You won’t bail if someone’s waiting for you. Plus, competition + social pressure = effortless consistency.

Running doesn’t have to suck. You just need to design your environment so starting becomes inevitable.

At the end of the day, we’re all just a bunch of monkeys, you’ll be shocked at how easy it is to influence your actions with a few tiny tweaks.
